Faith Circle has been active for 20 years. It is part of the Ontario Branch of the International Order of The King’s Daughters and Sons (IOKDS) which is a charitable organization with Circles in Canada and the U.S.A. The headquarters is in Chautauqua, NY.
Faith Circle was established with three members in August 2001. Silver Cross pins from the former Help-In-Need Circle in Owen Sound, ON were donated to the new members.
In 2011, Faith Circle was split into Faith Circle West, centred on the Niagara region, and Faith Circle East, oriented towards Metro Toronto. Southwest Ontario District Union (SODU) was formed which united both Circles.
In September 2021, a vote was passed to dissolve SODU and revert to a single Faith Circle.
There are currently ten adult members, three associate members, and two junior members in the Circle. Members pay annual dues and are expected to participate in meetings whenever possible. Meetings are typically scheduled four times a year, two during the spring and two during the fall.
We are an open, diverse, and inclusive group of interdenominational Christians who do their best to uphold the values of IOKDS: to serve others, encourage the development of spiritual life and stimulate Christian activities – In His Name.
