Established on November 30, 2009, Autism Circle is one of a number of Circles that are part of the Ontario Branch of the International Order of The King’s Daughters and Sons – a Christian service organization with members in both the United States and Canada.
Autism Circle supports the work of the Children at Risk program in Ottawa – a program that provides services and programs to families of children diagnosed within the Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).
The Autism Circle holds meetings periodically throughout the year and one of the main objectives of the meetings is to plan fundraising activities to support the work of Children at Risk programs.
One of those main fundraising events is the Benefit Brunch for Autism usually held in November each year. CTV News Anchor Patricia Boal usually presides at the event as guest emcee. The Capital Chordettes – a Ladies’ Barbershop Chorus regularly performs at the Brunch, as do students from the Suzuki School of Music. The GleeCeptional Choir is the most recent addition to the lineup of musical talent that performs for the enjoyment of the guests attending the Brunch.
