Vista Circle

Organized in 2007, Vista Circle is one of a number of Circles that are part of the Ontario Branch of the International Order of the King’s Daughters and Sons – a Christian charitable organization with members in both the United States and Canada.

The Circle was started by a group of women who lived in the Alta Vista area of Ottawa – mainly in the “Vista On The Park” Condo building.  Because the Condo building was  a seniors’ building, most charter members were seniors, but that is not the case today. Although they are still a group of mostly seniors, three of the present members are working – two are Anglican ministers and one is a Health Care professional.  Over the years, some members have moved and now live further afield, three members live miles outside the city.  The members are devoted Christians, happy to belong to a Christian organization and to serve our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, as members of The King’s Daughters and Sons.

Their usual schedule is to meet twice a year, providing spiritual support, with meaningful devotions by their two clergy members.  The business portion of their meetings mainly involves providing updates to members on upcoming IOKDS events and making decisions on how support may be offered to people in need in the community. Recently, donations have been given to Cornerstone – an emergency shelter that provides safe supportive housing for women in Ottawa. The secretary records the minutes and the treasurer manages dues and is also Vista Circle representative on the Ottawa City Union Board, reporting on and representing the good work of The King’s Daughters and Sons in Ottawa, In His Name.

New members are welcome to join us virtually, or in person.
